She was a thread taken from the fabric of a life half-lived, the one constant reminder to abandon all my innocence. But You were the calm after the storm of all my significance. The still small voice I could never ignore, drawing me to repentance. With just one sentence, “Come, let me give you rest.” And I’ve been restless for quite some time now. And a slave once again to that which makes me doubt. My life is but a vapor. My thoughts are just grains of sand, building towers doomed to crumble but still You are mindful of this man. This tired head is heavy. These feeble limbs are giving way. I’ve made my bed in Sheol, even there You call my name. And I will stay above the surface until my final breath floats with the wind and even then I know I will be back home again. And even now every whisper screams sweet truths into my ear, echoing with joyous peace chasing away my every fear. You chase away my every fear.
